Seal Online Launched CBT in Malaysia

YNK Korea’s <Seal Online> has launched successful CBT in Malaysia since last 25th.

Indonesian publisher LYTO is in charge of the local service of <Seal Online> and announced SEA gamers are more interested in the test than other games’ CBT.

JoonWon Lee the director of overseas business YNK Korea said “We had very positive feedback in other SEA countries, so we believe similar response would result in Malaysia as well.”

<Seal Online> is in service in Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and other SEA countries.

YNK Games Introduces M-OTP

YNK Games introduced M-OTP(Mobile One Time Password) in its gag action MMORPG <Seal Online> today.

They also give away US$1 game money to those who register the new security service.

The M-OTP will send a temporary password to player’s mobile phone who logged in the site for playing game.

“We consider customers’ information very important as much as updating new game contents. So we started this,” said SangHong Min the director of Local Busniss Development of YNK Korea.

Rohan Kicks Off CBT in China

August 13th, 2010

On Aug. 13, YNK KOREA announced <Rohan> developed by YNK Games has kicked off CBT with Chinese publisher CYF Investments Limited in China after acquiring of right to publish.

<Rohan> has signed with CYF for service?in China in?December?2008 and has worked localization for about 2 years. It recently has been introduced at China Joy 2010.

“<Rohan> in China is a major key point of an upward tendency of YNK KOREA’s global sale outcome,” said HakJoon Kim, CEO of YNK KOREA.

I’ve got three M&A news from Korea.

1) CJ Internet Looking into GameHi

CJ Internet is looking into buying GameHi, a developer behind a popular FPS game Sudden Attack. CJ Internet said “we are considering the option in order to strengthen our game development competitiveness, but nothing is decided yet.”

2) A Book Publisher Became a Major Shareholder of YNK Korea

A book publisher of “The Lord of the Rings” in the Korean language, Golden Bough (황금가지: Kor), became a major shareholder by obtaining 33% of total shares of YNK Korea.

3) Nflavor and Aeonsoft ?Became One

Nflavor and Aeonsoft announced their merger on February 10. Both companies are a part of Gala Group. Nflavor’s CEO, Seung Hyun Park, will serve as a CEO of Aeonsoft as well.

[YNK Korea] Seal Online re-enters Thailand

Korean publisher?YNK Korea partnered up with local publisher?Winner Online to publish its RPG game, Seal Online, in Thailand. YNK Korea already tried this path in 2003 but is seemingly doing better in second time around; since its CBT started July 16, 50,000 players have sigend up so far.
