THQ Withdraws from Korea

November 29th, 2010

As TIG covers, THQ has decided to close the THQ Korea and the development of <WWE Smackdown vs. Raw Online> which has been co-developed by Vertigogames.

THQ Korea has been open since 2003 and has developed <WWE Smackdown vs. Raw Online> project for the past 2 years.?The closure seems to be done in order to recover the recession of last Q3.

According to a rumor, the development of <WWE Online> is canceled due to the additional finance required. It has been developed as good enough as to be tested by local publishers so far.

THQ closed only Korean office and the project. SF MMORPG <Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online> and <Company of Heroes Online> are still going on.

THQ Korea does not make any comment about the issue yet.
