Deputy CEO of NHN Hangame Resigned

December 16th, 2011

NHN Hangame’s deputy CEO Wook Jung resigned.

NHN is to reshuffle the organization structure in line with his resignation. The position of Hangame CEO and game director will remain empty for a while as he leaves the company on December 30.

Hangame seems to be reformed into such areas as smartphone, RPG, non-RPG, and others and each director would have working level authority while final decision would be made by SangHun Kim the CEO of NHN.

Jung’s resignation is purportedly due to his personal excuse. An official from NHN said “He made the hard decision for his passion for a new business and to take a break.”

Wook Jung has worked for NHN since 2005 and has been appointed as the deputy CEO of Hangame for last 2 years. He has published big online games including <TERA>, <Metro Conflict>, <Kingdom Under Fire 2>, <Project R1>, and <Winning Eleven Online> and has expanded game business through founding Orange Crew, a smartphone game developer of NHN Hangame.

CEO of WeMade Resigned for Personal Reasons

July 4th, 2011

SooKil Seo(right picture), the CEO of WeMade Entertainment, resigned from his position for personal reasons.

WeMade announced it on June 30.

There has actually been a rumor that Mr. Seo would sell all his stocks including ordinary shares and stock options which worth 6% of entire WeMade stocks since last April.

Therefore WeMade will be led by KwanHo Park, the co-CEO of WeMade and owns 54.26% of WeMade stocks, alone ever since he resigned.

In addition to his resignation, his e-sports team, WeMade Fox, would likely be dismissed as well. The team is currently taken to KeSPA’s arbitration for either sales or management in trust after the Shinhan bank pro league 10-11 season. Its <Warcraft 3> players are already leaving to <Starcraft 2> league.

WeMade said many things could be done with the e-sports team but nothing has not been done yet.
