ChangHo Choi PD of Maius Games
Maius Games represented MMORPG <Monarch> recently. However it used to be developed as a MORPG 2 years ago. Let’s see what made it be MMORPG.
TIG > Lots have changed since last 2 years.
Yes. <Monarch> has been developed as a MMORPG since second half of 2009 due to various factors. We have changed almost everything including the world itself into traditional MMORPG. So we hope gamers forget about the past.
However we have not abandoned every MO elements. Such MO features as object destruction still remain.
TIG > What is the feature of MMORPG <Monarch>?
It is seamless world based traditional MMORPG set in medieval times. The representative feature is the unit system.?Players will control own unit consists of up to 20 NPCs.
It is somewhat simliar to what of <Granado Espada>. But the NPCs of <Monarch> have unique characteristics which results various strategies according to various combination. Moreover regular forces are easily recruitable but special forces are only available when unique conditions meet.

TIG > It seems so hard to control the whole unit members.
The players do not have to control one by one. The players are leader of the unit and just direct them what to do. The direction can be shifted during the battle as well.
TIG > What about massive warfare with the units?
<Monarch> means ruler or king. So the massive warfare is indeed the core feature of the game.
The warfare will also feature the object destruction I have mentioned before. Any where the players attack can be destroyed while other MMORPGs’ warfares features only partial destruction. So we think this will drive various strategies.
TIG > Maius Games is well known with distinguished skill in 3D engine technique in the past.
Well since we are the developers from <KUF> <N3> <Huxley>, we cannot say we are bad at 3D engine. lol
But the feature we can boast about the engine used in <Monarch> is that it is superb in optimization and ability for shading which allow rendering as many characters as possible on screen.
TIG > What is your next step?
We plan CBT within the first half of 2011 and OBT within the last quarter of 2011.
