Booth registration for GStar 2012 is closed

If you have a plan to have a booth at G-Star 2012, your chance is not left. According to G-Star organization, B2B registration has been closed due to the exceeded requests.

99% of B2C booth was reserved already while 105% booth was reserved for B2B. The notable companies that will be presented at B2C are Joymax, Blizzard, Neowiz, Wemade, NHN, Nexon, Neople, Wargaming etc. Especially, there will be typical domestic mobile game companies such as SK Planet, Com2uS, Gamevil etc. B2B booth area has been increased about 30% compared to the last year.

The pre-registration for buyers will be started from the end of September through the official G-Star homepage – www.gstar.or.kr

At G-Star 2012, there will be 2 big e-sports events as well – <League of Legends> opening event for the Champions Winter and GNGWC finals.

Joymax Takes Over IO Entertainment

Joymax has fully taken over IO Entertainment who developed the online action game, <Lost Saga>, at US$17.8m on March 24.

The US$3.6m has been paid as the deposit and the rest will be paid by April 1.

Joymax was able to acquire IO Enetertainment at lesser price than?which was actually estimated at US$20m. IO Entertainment’s revenue and net profit in last year were respectively US$1.9m and US$1m.

Through this acquisition, Joymax added action game genre after MMORPG and FPS, and IO Entertatinment earned for stable development environment.

“The publishing contract of <Lost Saga> between IO Entertainment and Samsung Electronics is still left for the next 2~3 years. Thus Joymax will only take care of the overseas publishing of it for now,” said Joymax.

The current publisher of <Lost Saga>, Sesi Soft, also said “nothing will change since it has been signed. Samsung Electronics stays as the official publisher.”

Sesi Soft is a publisher derived from Samsung Elecronics.

WeMade acquires JoyMax

WeMade announced on July 2nd that they took over JoyMax by taking 25.46% of stakes from the 3 major shareholders and the chairman of JoyMax, Chan Woong Jeon, for 69.3 billion Won(=appx. US$ 60M).

JoyMax which has been listed on the Kosdaq in last June was the first company that successfully launched <Silk Road Online> via the GSP(Global Service Platform) model. Its business profits and net profit for 2009 were 16.5B and 16.1B respectively out of total revenue 34.6B.

[Joymax] Commercial Service for Silkroad in Russia

Joymax announced its commercial service launch in Russia partnering with Astrum Online Entertainment. Astrum said more than 130,000 users registered during OBT.
