Korean companies at E3 2012

Which Korean online game companies will be appeared at E3 2012? Nexon, Wemade, CJ E&M, Eastsoft, Bluehole Studio will be there.

Nexon brings ‘Dungeon&Fighters Live’ for Xbox360 at E3 and will be held media showcase on the 6th of June. ‘Dungeon&Fighters Live’ is similar to its online game version, but supports 720p for TV. It supports single play as well as party play through Xbox Live.

Wemade Entertainment will announce 8 mobile games – ‘Choas&Defense’, ‘Goblin Mobile’, ‘Friend Fighter’, ‘Pet Island’, ‘Hero Square’, ‘Rhythm Scandal’, and ‘Project Q’ for the first time.

CJ E&M will introduce various online games includes ‘S2 Online’, ‘Bloody Hunter’, and a Roleplaying Shooting ‘Hounds’, MMORPG ‘Monarch’. Eastsoft will bring ‘Cabal 2’, which ended CBT last November. Bluehole Studio will have a booth for ‘Tera’, while Maiet Entertainment will show ‘Raiderz‘ at Perfectworld booth.

Chinese Cabal 2? Are You Serious?

ESTsoft’s MMORPG <Cabal>’s official sequel is coming out not from ESTsoft?

At China Joy 2011, Moliyo(摩力遊), a Chinese developer, introduced <Cabal 2> officially and showed its play at the booth. You can watch how it looks like at here.

Actually <Cabal 2> is illegal and unofficial sequel of Korean <Cabal>. Moriyo used to publish <Cabal> in China in the past and developed its sequel unilaterally without agreement of ESTsoft. So it is nothing related with <Cabal> at all. Moliyo also noted that it is independent title. Then why does it use the exactly same name and number 2 beside it, huh?

What is even more funny is that ESTsoft did not recognize its development until we reported it to them in July 2010. They said it was a shocking affair and they filed a lawsuit for Mariyo’s breach of publishing agreement.

The official MMORPG <Cabal 2> is currently being developed with CryEngine 3 by ESTsoft and was first introduced at last G-star.

The Chinese <Cabal 2> is scheduled to launch commercial service within this year in China. No plan for Korea is decided. Let’s see how it ends.

Cabal 2 Unveiled at G-Star 2010

A sequel of <Cabal>, which took 6 years to come, <Cabal 2> developed by ESTsoft is going to unveiled at G-Star 2010.

It has been developed about 3 years ago and its latest play video and demo are now ready to be introduced at G-Star 2010.

Amongst MMORPGs, <Cabal 2> uses Cry engine 3 for the first time and its own combined engine called Snake engine in order to draw rich graphic and awesome action.

“As we aim the best MMORPG, <Cabal 2> will be qualified in the aspects of graphic and game experience. I cannot tell the details but a system never experienced before will be introduced and it will make <Cabal 2> more unique and fun,” said YoungHwan Min the director of game business development of ESTsoft.
