Wemade Entertainment recorded US$11 million in sales in 2012 from mobile games. The company kept releasing hit mobile games since the 2nd quarter, 2012 and lay foundation for the mobile game market.
The revenue for 4th quarter rapidly went up about 280% comparing to 3rd quarter – US$2.3 M to US$8.87 M. The company released about 10 mobile games in 2012 such as Viking Island, Touch Fighter, and Candy Pang. Candy Pang recorded 10 million downloads.
With the start of the New Year, Wind Runner was released in January and ranked #1 in Apple and Google App Store. DAU for Wind Runner recorded 4.2 million as of the 7th of February.
Wemade invested on mobile games from 2010 and now the total number of employees is about 1,500. Among them, 800 is mobile game developers and 300 for online game developing. Wemade has the plan to release 40 mobile games in 2013. Genre of games will vary from MMORPG, MO RPG, TPS, AOS etc.
All revenues that we mentioned above are all from Korean domestic market. Wemade will focus on expanding the market to the world, especially to China and Japan in 2013.
