Nexon to Publish Crytek’s Warface in Korea and Taiwan

Nexon and Crytek signed a publishing agreement of online FPS game <Warface> for Korea and Taiwan.

<Warface> is Crytek’s first online game made by CryEngine3, featuring ultimate graphics, AI, physical effect, and other FPS elements.

“It’s pleasure to service FPS expert Crytek’s first online game. With our experience based on diverse online FPS games we have published, we will do our best to provide the best environment for the best game to our customers,” said Min Seo the CEO of Nexon.

Nexon Becomes Largest Shareholder of JCE

Nexon has become the largest shareholder of JCE by taking over 6.01% share of it, totaling up 22.34%,  as of today.

JCE has developed an online sports game series <Freestyle> and a smartphone social network game <Rule the Sky>.

“JCE has proven its development and management with <Freestyle> series and its quick response to an emerging market with <Rule the Sky>. Nexon is going to foster JCE into a global company in combination with its capability and potential and Nexon’s business capability, live service, and experience in global service,” said Min Seo the CEO of Nexon.

Game Culture Advisory Group Established

Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism(MCST) has established Game Culture Advisory Group(GCAG) yesterday.

The GCAG, comprised of parents, civil organization, counsellors, teachers, and so on, is to have a monthly meeting to advise on governmental policies and report game addiction and its reality to the MCST.

Moreover it would play a role of council services for healthy game culture by proposing problems and improvements based on actual user experience of online/console games and analyzing causes of game addiction.

“Games have become a life culture which not only teenagers but also broader ages are enjoying today. Therefore I believe our homework is to make game culture healthy. I hope the GCAG contribute to the healthy game culture  through pointing out pros and cons of the games by playing them personally,” said YoungJin Kwak the vice minister of the MCST.

Netmarble Adds Social Action Web RPG Heroes of Pantheon to Lineup

CJ E&M Netmarble gained a publication right of side-scrolling action MORPG <Heroes of Pantheon >, developed by Studio EX, for Korea and Japan today, also acquiring its co-publication right for global market excluding Japan in company with YJM Entertainment.

<Heroes of Pantheon > is a web-based online action game, featuring cross-platform and Olympus and Titan factions based on Greek myth.

Netmarble has also signed a publishing contract of YJM’s casual racing game <Blue Monkeys> last February 7.

“We have added a social action online game that fits the latest trends to our publishing lineup. We will make the game better and bring it to our customers as soon as possible,” said YoungKi Cho the CEO of Netmarble.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Online to Kick Off 2nd CBT

Side-scrolling action MORPG <Ghost ‘n Goblins Online>, co-developed by Seed9 Games and Capcom, is recruiting gamers for its second beta test.

The closed beta test reveals banks, auction system, post system, improved PvP system, and other veiled content for level 40, taking place from March 6 to 11.

The return of an old-school RPG features characteristic gameplay, easy control, exciting action, and so on.
