e-Stars Seoul 2010 opens on Aug. 13th.

‘e-Stars Seoul 2010′ is preparing a game market like which of Europe Film Market.

It also plans to be became as a major game community by providing meetings between developer and publisher, developer and developer, and publisher and publisher.

Total 51 game companies include such 15 major companies as NC Soft, Nexon, CJ Internet, NHN, and etc. and 36 smaller developers will attend it. They will have B2B on Aug. 13th and B2C on 14th and 15th.

There will be an online game market for the first in Korea. Online based e-Stars Premiere Library will provide information about attended publishers and developers and will play as an online B2B platform via online matching system which will be added later.

‘e-Stars Seoul 2010′ will be held from Aug. 13th to 15th at the COEX D hall. Further detail information is available at its official site.

ITS GAME in China Has Finished Successfully.

‘ITS GAME in China – Export Business Meeting for Korean games(ITS GAMES in China)’ hosted by Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism(MCST), KOCCA, and Seoul Business Agency(SBA) is successfully held at Shanghai Millennium Honggiao hotel on July 27th and 28th.

It is purposely held before the China Joy in order to help exporting Korean games to the Chinese market. 16 Korean developers such as Estsoft, Com2us, and etc. are participated.

Chien Tung Hai, the vice president of Shanda Games, said, “Although many Chinese games are being serviced, the major hot games are mostly Korean games.” and “I have attended ITS GAMES in Korea last May in order to find a good Korean game, and attended this ITS GAMES again for the same reason.”

Meanwhile, MCST will hosts a Korea joint booth in GamesCom in German which is held from Aug. 19th to 22th as a way to foster exporting Korean games to foreign markets. Additionally, they plans active supports such as dispatching delegation for market pioneer to Brazil and Peru which are rising blue ocean in the online game market in October.

KOCCA Starts To Mediate with Gretech for E-sports.

Government has decided to mediate between Gretech and 3 pro game teams regarding the intellectual property(IP) of e-sports about <Starcraft>.

Besides the pro game teams, SK Telecom T1, KT Rollster, and Woongjin Starz, Korea E-sports Association(KeSPA) participates in the meeting for recording and running. The meeting is held in order to decide what topics will they talk about on the next meeting.

The most major topic is obviously the pro league of <Starcraft>. The pro league 09-10 season will be ended on Aug. 7th.

KOCCA is watching this meeting as an inspection director of KeSPA.?KOCCA said, “The negotiation should be working in order for the next pro league to be ongoing, but the negotiation is being late. Since it is a meeting between companies, there are many opposition. This is what we are trying to mediate.”

KeSPA steps back from the negotiation.

KOCCA, as an mediator, approaches to broadcasting right and secondary content carefully. KOCCA said, “The result of this meeting will be a precedent for Korean games selected for the other overseas e-sports league later.”

In other words, limiting the right of Blizzard?unilaterally?will might result the same way to the Korean companies from the foreign countries later.

Two big game broadcasters are now talking with Gretech about the tournament.

NC Soft’s Exteel Ends Its Service.

NC Soft announced its mechanic action online game <Exteel> will be ended on Sept. 1st.

NC Soft will provide a ‘settle down promotion’ for those users who played <Exteel> since June 2008. The players will be given 3 selected in-game items from <Lineage>, <Lineage 2>, <Aion>, <Steeldog>, <Punch Monster>, and <Love Beat>.

NC Soft said, “<Exteel> is decided to be closed for an internal reason. We are sorry for those who loved it. We prepared a promotion in order to support its players.”

Meanwhile, the NC Soft’s 5 casual online games since 2005 -<Smash Star>, <Toy Strikers>, <SP Jam>, <Puzzle Pang>, and <Exteel>- are all gone now as <Exteel> ends its service.

Nexon Introduces 7 Games at China Joy 2010.

Nexon announced they will introduce their 7 games at the China Joy 2010 held in Shanghai New International Expo Center.

<Crazy Shooting Bubble Fighter> and <Nexon Byul> which are respectively partnered with Shanda and Tiancity will be exposed to Chinese users for the first. Also a publishing news for brand new game to China will be unveiled at 1:30 pm on July 29th..
